Samsung Korea has announced that it has come up with two new PAVV TVs with 3D configured PDP(Plasma) TV. With this combination, Samsung hopes that these TV's will give the best gaming experience possible. To achieve this edge, Samsung worked in collaboration with Electronic Arts, the major developer of 3D games. The new TV's also feature DNIe+ (Digital Natural Image engine+) besides USB 2.0 support, HDMI 1.3, full HD and an amazing contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1!!

A Korean company, Inkel today announced the launch of MU-D Multimedia Dictionary which features a dictionary incorporated with a multimedia system. Along with regular multimedia stuffs available in most Portable Multimedia Players, the new MU-D multimedia system also features an inbuilt TV tuner ; you can watch all your digital TV programs directly through this player. And mind it, with the incorporated Digital Dictionary, you can upgrade your vocabulary power even in the midst of your entertainment pleasure!

The MU-D is powered by WinCe 5.0 processor and has 4.3'' LCD screen of 480x272 resolution with 4GB of inbuilt memory( extendable upto 12GB with external SDHC cards). Unfortunately the MU-D is currently available only in Korea.

Bang and Olufsen, the Danish manufacturer of stylish AV gear, launches a bunch of new products this year at CES:

The BeoVision8 is a 32" LCD TV, which is new to the North American market this year. At $4000 B&O think their typical customer will see this as a secondary TV for the kitchen, game room etc but they’re also hoping that the price point will entice new consumers to the brand. They’re proud of the the sound quality on the set and I have to say they have a point; For a TV, it does sound very good indeed.

B&O have also applied their design flair to the ubiquitous MP3 player. With it’s polished steel and smoked glass facia, the BeoSound 6 looks the part. A 40 hour battery life makes it unique in the market and it ships with the A8 headphones.

Lastly, to tie your whole system together they give the universal remote a facelift with the Beo5 remote (pictured). If you’re a B&O customer you’ll want this. It brings together a full colour, customisable touch screen with some useful hard buttons. It learns the remote codes from your existing kit so it can control non B&O devices too. It’s not user-customisable - when you buy the remote you’ll also need to set up a consultation with your dealer, who will program it for you to your specifications.

The OPPO HM-31 is a very compact, very precise device with a single purpose - connecting up to three HDMI sources to a single HDMI input on your HDTV.

The HM-31 uses the HMDI 1.3 spec and supports 720p, 1080i, 1080p, DeepColor and all common HDTV screen resolutions.

The HM-31 itself is 7.375"x4.5"x1.06" and it weighs only 9oz. It looks small in the hand, and even smaller next to an HDTV. The body is made of plastic and aluminum. While this may sound flimsy, the HM-31 feels very sturdy.

On the front of the HM-31, there are three indicator lights to show you which HDMI line is active, an infrared receiver, a power light and a manual button to switch between HMDI sources without using the remote control.

On the back of the HM-31, there's a 5V DC power plug, an RS-232C port for RS-232C remote controls, an external infrared sensor input, a single HDMI output and three HDMI inputs.

On the bottom of the HM-31 there are three mounting hooks so the HM-31 can be mounted on a wall or against some other surface.

The included remote control is roughly the same thickness as the new iPod touch, though it's shorter and narrower. The remote only has four buttons -rotate, 1, 2 and 3. Rotate is used to switch to the next HDMI source. The 1-3 buttons relate to the three HDMI inputs. The remote uses a replaceable 3V Lithium button battery.

Included with the OPPO HM-31 are four thin foam pads to protect the surfaces the HM-31 is placed upon, a synthetic fiber pouch for the HM-31, a handy instruction booklet and the power adapter.

The HM-31 uses only 5 watts of power, so you can leave it on without doing too much damage to your electric bill. To be environmentally responsible, turn it off when not in use.

When many consumers in the US and Europe have not even upgraded to a HDTV, the Japanese government are already planning “Super Hi-Vision” which is basically the nest step up from High Definition.

Japan want to make Ultra High Definition a broadcast standard by 2015, this new standard will feature 22.2 channel surround sound and a 33 megapixel (7,680 x 4,320) resolution.

Japan’s Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry will be partnering with private companies to make this new high definition standard happen, although they have to overcome the problems of designing equipment to transfer the 24Gbps uncompressed stream and build a camera that can record it.

They have already started development research with a $2.7 million investment this year alone.

We have reported to you about Alienware’s curved DLP display and shown you a video of it on display at CES 2008, but not as many people have been talking about the NEC CRVD-42DWX+ curved gaming display which looks identical.

NEC’s CRVD-42DWX+ television features a contrast ratio of 10000:1 and a 2880×900 (double WXGA+) panel, just like Alienware’s screen we have no pricing or shipping dates. Maybe with two of these around the price might get lower.
