How Apple plan to do this is very simple, according to Engadget both the iPhone and Touch will feature Lotus Notes eMail.

IBM kick off their Lotusphere conference on Sunday 20th in Orlando, and this is when the announcement will be made. If you already have an existing license then you should get this new feature for free. If these rumors are in fact true then Lotus Notes eMail could be the first third-party iPhone SDK app that is official.
